In this example, we’ll walk through the process of creating a brand new Sui Wallet.  To follow along with us, go to the official Sui Wallet website and click on “Download Browser Extension”.

1. Install the Sui Wallet Chrome Extension: Navigate to the Chrome Web Store and add the Sui Wallet extension to your browser.
2. Create a New Wallet: Click on “More options” and select “Create a new wallet.” Create a strong password and customize the auto-lock settings which determine how long you stay logged-into your Sui Wallet.
3. Write Your Passphrase Down on Paper: Carefully write down the 12-word recovery phrase on paper and store multiple copies of it in secure locations. This is the only way to recover your Sui Wallet if needed.  Remember, there is no “Forgot Password” option in Web3.
4. Pin Sui Wallet so it’s easy to access in your Chrome browser.
5. Fund Your Wallet: You can fund your new Sui Wallet by sending $SUI to it from a centralized exchange like Coinbase or by transferring from another Sui ecosystem wallet.  Just copy your “Receive” address, go to the source where you hold $SUI and send it to your Sui Wallet “Receive” address.  I always recommend sending a SMALL amount of $SUI on your first attempt.  Sui blockchain gas fees are extremely low so it’s a really good idea to start small and scale up once you have the process down.

2. Import Your Desktop Wallet: In the mobile wallet app, select the option to import an existing wallet and paste in your private key from your desktop Sui Wallet.  You’ll be prompted to enter your wallet password.  Do that and your Desktop and Sui mobile wallet will be mirrored.
