Beginners Guide to Sending Bitcoin from Coinbase to Xverse Wallet

Reasons to pull Bitcoin off of a centralized exchange like Coinbase and send it to an Xverse wallet are many.  Some examples include; to purchase Ordinals, Runes, BRC-20 tokens, SRC-20 Bitcoin Stamps, and to self-custody your crypto.  Trading Bitcoin Runes like Billion Dollar Cat and Ordinals are probably the two biggest uses cases for holding $BTC in an Xverse wallet at the moment.  In this Stouy tutorial, we’ll show you how easy it is to take Bitcoin off of Coinbase and send it to your Web3 Xverse wallet.  Anytime you move crypto from an exchange to a self-custodial wallet, it’s important to take your time and double check the recipient address. How to Send $BTC from a Coinbase account to your Xverse Wallet.

Step 2:  Go to your Coinbase account and click “Send & Receive” > enter the amount of Bitcoin you want to send > paste your Xverse Bitcoin wallet receive address > Preview and double check everything > click “Send Now”.Coinbase Send $BTC to Recipient Xverse wallet address.

Step 3:  Coinbase will send a text message to the phone number linked to your account > enter the 7-digtit code > you’ll see the confirmation that the amount of $BTC you specified has been sent > click “View Details” to track the progress.

The amount of time it take for the Bitcoin to transfer off of Coinbase to your Xverse wallet will vary.  In my experiences, it takes anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes so please be patient.  On your first send from Coinbase to Xverse (or any Web3 wallet), I recommend doing a small “test” amount just to make sure you’re all good.  It’s always best to start small, go slow, and then scale up the amount of cryptocurrency you send as you feel more comfortable.  Now that you’ve learned how to self-custody, check out our tutorial on sending Bitcoin from Xverse to another Xverse wallet.
